Mary Kokoska

Visual Art – Pittsburgh

I am primarily a self-taught artist with a history of formal art instruction limited to high school and a class in college. My educational background and career experience is in the human services field but I have maintained my passion of creating art by incorporating it through my work in social services, private consignments, and online sales. My primary medium is painting with acrylics but I also enjoy sketching, mixed media, photography, and digital manipulation. My style is largely surrealism...I am inspired by life, nature, spirituality, emotions, and people including many artists like Van Gogh, Warhol, Dali, Munch and Randy Gilson. I\'ve always wanted to connect with others in a positive way and I feel that creating art is a wonderful way of doing so.
