Visual Art – Ottawa

My name is Krasi Dimtch (from Krasimira Dimtchevska). I am Bulgarian-Canadian living in Ottawa and I hold a Master’s degree of Arts from the Warsaw Academy of Fine Art in Poland. In my native Bulgaria I was active in the field of print making and illustration of children’s and science fiction books. I have participated in many art exhibitions in Bulgaria as well as in exhibitions of Bulgarian art in Germany, Austria, Greece, Poland, Spain, Italy, Mexico and Cyprus. After immigrating to Canada I devoted myself to the study of English Language and the development of an original algorithm and software for natural language generation and representation (CIPO-Patent-2704163 by Krasimira Dimtchevska and Svillen Ranev). The idea for the software emerged several years ago at a time when I was so tired of my "unoriginal" thoughts that I stopped making art and I started looking for answers about the meaning of life in the structures of English Language (a language that I barely understood then). To make a long story short, it was there that I found sequences of synonymous words such as (life syn. visit syn. reoccurs) that helped me to resolve my existential and artistic conflicts. Now, I create complex visual representations of English sentences. In some instances I visually expose fragments of the complex structure of interrelated English words and the sentences embedded in them. In other instances I digitally transform generated by the software visual representations of English sentences and use them to compose seemingly abstract images that are actually representational. Since the software enables the generation of indefinite number of non-identical abstract representations of one and the same sentence in my colourful world one word is worth thousand images. websites: http://www.krasidimtch.ca/ http://www.dibinfinite.ca/
