Kristina Larson

Visual Art – New Orleans

Kristina Larson was born in Wisconsin in 1978. At the young age of two, she was confined to a body cast after a corrective hip surgery. Her father built a cart to wheel her around in with drawing table attached, resulting in her obsession with art making. Larson holds a MA in Arts Administration from the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), and a BFA from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts (SMFA) and Tufts University. Since her first solo show in 2002, Larson has exhibited nationally and internationally in solo and group exhibitions. In 2008, while serving as a United States Peace Corps Volunteer in Morocco, she had a major exhibition at the Clock Gallery in Fez, which completely sold out and all of the proceeds were donated to a Moroccan woman’s weaving association. Larson currently lives, works, and sculpts in New Orleans, Louisiana.
