LInda Litteral

Visual Art – San Diego

Linda Litteral is an artist and arts educator living in San Diego. She earned her Bachelor’s degree, Magna Cum Laude and her Master of Fine Arts degree at San Diego State University. During her Master’s program she studied in Ecuador and was a guest speaker at Univesidad Nationale in Quito. She has taught art history and studio classes at SDSU, Grossmont College, Mesa College and Southwestern College. Linda is on the advisory board for the Graffiti Education and Mural Arts Program for San Diego. She was a visiting artist in Switzerland at the Sculpture Symposium at Albert Gyorgy’s foundry and studio in 2010. She participated in a conference at the Jingdezhen Ceramic Institute, China in 2008. She wrote “Letters From China” for Critical Ceramics about the conference. Linda is a member of the Allied Craftsmen Group, the Feminist Image Group, and the Ceramic Artists of San Diego, all based in San Diego. The artist is represented by the Trynn Gallery in Guatay, Ca. “My sculptural work is grounded in social change. I discuss visually the need for a voice in child abuse issues. Using beauty, I seduce the viewer into the subject matter and allow them a safe place to think about the problem. My painting explores the more personal ideas of meditation and becoming grounded within one’s self.”
