Lydia Kathleen Sponslier

Lydia Sponslier, who grew up in Minnetonka, Minnesota, developed a passion for painting during a month-long painting course at Altos de Chavon in the Dominican Republic. She graduated from the College of Visual Arts in St. Paul with a degree in painting in 2011, and has used her artwork as a forum for exploring the role of chronic illness as an artistic inspiration. Her paintings have been shown at the New York Center for Art and Media Studies gallery in Manhattan, the College of Visual Arts in St. Paul, and the Arts High School in Minneapolis. Lydia has also studied jewelry design at the Rhode Island School of Design and under Ted Muehling in New York City.
