Visual Art – Boston

Maxine Hwang Blomberg grew up in Trumbull, CT alongside two scientifically-inclined brothers and a handful of artsy aunties. Her interest in visual interpretation and headgear came at an early age. She discovered a unique joy pulling large floral hatboxes from her grandmother\'s closet and adorning herself with the past. There is a pleasure and confidence in creating an art piece that consumed and motivated her along her path as an artist. With the lessons from her skilled, seamstress mother and encouragement from her feeling, true blue collar father she was able to nurture her abilities and graduate with a BFA from Boston University. Nowadays, Maxine can be found managing a quirky, but lovable cafe in the South End where she keeps limber with weekly chalk drawings. She consults with businesses in the area to display her artwork and looks forward to more projects in the future.
