Visual Art – Melbourne

Melbourne illustrator, Meg Kolac, creates lively artworks that are bursting with colour and emotion. Figures frozen in motion, their expressions unfinished, postures never perfect. Wrapped up in colour, the movement of the splatters and blows of paint bring them to life. Having graduated from RMIT University with a Bachelor of Design (Fashion) in 2010, her illustrations have a strong fashion focus. Her work has been displayed in local galleries, designer fashion stores, hair salons and on the cover of Inpress magazine. She has had works featured for Melbourne Fashion weeks and has curated and exhibited in a collaborative performance-based show for the Melbourne Fringe Festival. \"Some paintings are quite contemplative, but I\'d like to think that most of them are happy. I love to use a lot of colour and colour can make anyone happy - that may be my philosophy!\"
