MESDRESS by Molly Stackhouse

Fashion – New Orleans

Molly Stackhouse has been drawing clothes since as far back as she can remember. Her interest in fashion grew from a love of drawing paper dolls as a child. This lead her to pursue a textiles/apparel design degree from LSU in 2010. She launched her first collection that fall after completing an internship with both Seema Sudan of Liamolly and Clark Sabbat of Friends with Benefits in New York. She has since ventured into producing her own wholesale line, MESDRESS (pronounced mess-dress), here in New Orleans. She partnered with a local facility on the westbank, NOLA SEWN, and now her line is carried in four boutiques in the New Orleans area. The line is growing, just as her experience as a designer and a wholesaler. She hopes to continue producing an uncommon, but wearable ready-to-wear collection every season and to grow her business to include other states besides Louisiana. She always strives to create unconventional womenswear while still staying within the boundaries of wearable fashion. She plays with geometric shapes in a fashion-forward way and her pieces are always clean and simple.
