Visual Art – San Diego

Fascinated by the wild and natural scenery of my birthplace : the breathtaking views of Southern Ukraine, Dnieper River Banks, and famous Ukrainian chestnut trees in blossom, I was inspired to create art since a young age. At age 12 my family moved to the Untied States. I was immediately captivated by new scenery ,and while attending middle school, decided to become an artist. During those years I was recognized for my art as a first place winner of Blue Ribbon poster contest in La Mesa City. I graduated SDSU with BA in Painting and Printmaking . With everything around us constantly changing, I am not recording the world with a photographic accuracy , instead I reflect the physiological and psychological changes in people and their surroundings. I interpret that movement through spontaneous marks and a subjective palette. I am interested in the way forces of nature shape the visible world. Oil paints enable me in capturing the interaction of natural elements. Oil paints are extremely versatile and expressive, most fascinating and suitable medium for my work. I work in portraiture, landscape and still life genres.
