In a genre where the lines between rock and country music are often blurred, Calgary born and Okotoks raised Michela Sheedy brings a pure Albertan steely edge to her own style of traditional country music. Despite her initial resistance Michela has continually found herself drawn back to her roots, has honed her skills singing backup for local artists, playing a series of markets, fundraisers, open mics and competitions, and has set the stage to embark on a professional performance career.
Michela is no stranger to the stage. She has participated in the Calgary Stampede Talent Search for 4 years, placing in the top 10 finalists in the Ponoka Stampede Talent Search, played in front of over 2000 people as a top 6 finalist in the 2015 Nashville North Star competition and won Second Runner-Up at the 2016 Country 105FM's Rising Star Talent Search. Along with many other local performances, Michela Sheedy has also has made multiple radio appearances on 99.7FM Sun Country’s morning show.
Dedicating her time to the writing and development of her debut album, Michela Sheedy has worked with many well-known industry professionals in her pursuits. Partnering with names like Jake Mathews, Troy Kokol, Tanya Ryan, Olivia Wik and Maddison Krebs, she is focusing on crafting songs that reflect her unique style.
