Visual Art – Nashville

I knew at age 10 I wanted to be an artist. So I taught myself how to look at something and draw it. I would sit and draw for hours at a time until I got it right. But for me there is more to than just being able to copy from life or a photo. I try to draw more than what I can see, almost like its enhancing it, making it more interesting to look at than the original. I make it because its in me and I need to release it on to the paper. I always have many images that have yet to be drawn. In my mind they are trapped, digitally entombed in my computer until I am able to finish them on paper. As for my career, it was on hold for a few years because I have spent the last 8 years teaching junior high and high school students how to use art therapeutically in their lives both in school and at home. But life happened and God gave my family an opportunity and we moved to Nashville. This adventure has allowed me to truly begin my art career as a professional artist. I have been making artwork and I don\'t want to stop. I love spending time with my family and when they all go to sleep, I stay up, watch Netflix and create.
