Visual Art – Baltimore

My first \"love\" was art and it was what I wanted to do, but the young unconfident woman in me listened to others voices instead of my own. I tried many things professionally and then finally gained a degree in elementary education in my thirties. I taught for several years and started a family after years of trying. Afterwards I made my family a priority and stayed at home to raise our two daughters. They are now both in elementary school as of last year. And I found myself yearning to do what I was passionate about something I truly enjoyed. I began taking guitar lessons, which I always wanted to do. Years before with my passion for music/art, I started creating music art as a hobby finding trashed musical instruments at yard sales or goodwill and making them into unique one of a kind pieces for my home. Friends and family would come over to visit and fall in love with the pieces I created. I heard, \"wow you should really go into business\", \"you should pursue your art professionally\" many times and then I found etsy.com. Armed with support from friends and family I did just that and opened my own online shop! Galleries and businesses have found me through social media and are excited about my mixed media music themed approach. It\'s good to \"find\" yourself even if it is in your forties!
