Visual Art – Baltimore
I am a self-taught abstract painter and collage artist. I am always trying new techniques and love to see how the painting or collage emerges. I begin my work without a preconceived idea of what the finished piece will look like. I usually have a color palette ready and I go from there. My paintings usually have quite a few layers each one building on the last. The nature of my work varies from time to time but my pieces almost always use paper. I love paper. I love collecting paper. I hoard paper. I also love to erase some elements in each layer so that the layer underneath shows through. In addition to paint, paper and collage materials, texture will be used to enhance the composition as it slowly emerges from the canvas. My process involves the gradual buildup of many layers of color and texture to create the final piece. I leave my paintings open to interpretation by the viewer. I hope everyone enjoys looking at them as much as I enjoy creating them.
