THE FOUNDER Raquel Reed is a contemporary fashion designer whose design philosophy revolves around an innovative twist of modern-day classics. In her early days of designing, she took too with great inspiration from the Victorian era. Currently based in Atlanta, Raquel studied and received her BA in Fashion Merchandising and a Minor in Marketing from the University of Southern Mississippi. In 2007 Raquel was working as a subscription coordinator at Grip Magazine, putting her marketing skills to use. Deep down, however, she always wanted to work in fashion. She eventually got her chance and worked her way from the subscription coordinator to the assisting fashion editor at the magazine quickly. Raquel participated as a contestant in the Easter Seal’s annual designer competition. And in 2012 received the prestigious RAW Awards Fashion Designer of the Year Award. She then went on to work with independent films as a stylist and has successfully design for celebrities such as Jennifer Hudson, Queen Naija, Latto, Baby Tate, Citygirls, Porshea Williams, Tatyana Ali, Trina Braxton and more. She is excellent with the use of innovative fabrics and playing with different textures to produce edgy and innovative designs that stand out. Raquel always said, “I have a passion for fashion”. She stayed true to her passion and launched her clothing brand RAQUEL THE LABEL. Her design has also been featured in People magazine. Raquel started her tailoring and alterations service in 2010 under the name of Alterations by Raquel to cater to customers’ unique tailoring needs. Raquel has also worked on sets as the lead tailor for GQ magazine, commercials, and music videos with various artist. She is in the Buckhead area in Atlanta and can help you with all your clothing woes.
