Visual Art – Cincinnati

i have been drawing as long as i can remember. i recall passing time in school, church, at home, wherever, sketching, doodling, drawing..... every notebook i own is filled with miscellaneous sketches, random shapes, etc. to this day, when i\'m bored at work in a meeting that has no particular relevance to me, my planner will become a mini canvas. any time my mind begins wandering, it translates into something on a piece of paper. i\'ve never had any formal training. in fact, the only art class i\'ve ever taken part in was for half of the school year in 8th grade. funny. anyway, i made the decision about 10 years ago to try my hand at painting. it\'s been a long, interesting journey, and it seems that i grow a bit more passionate about it each day. i work in both oils and acrylics, depending on my mood and how much time i may have at a particular sitting. most of my subject matter revolves around things i\'ve seen, places i\'ve been....from a tree located just around the 154 mile marker on i75 north near findlay, ohio, to the cliffs of moher in ireland. i\'m still searching for my style, my muse i suppose, and in that search i\'ve found that nothing\'s too bland or commonplace that a bit of paint and some interesting brush strokes can\'t make it into something pleasing to the eye. at least my own....
