Re-write(s) of Passage Ensemble Theatre Company

Performing Art – New York - Brooklyn

Re-write(s) of Passage Ensemble Theatre Company creates original performance works by and for women of African descent. Through the creation of multidisciplinary performance works we aim to give voice to Black women’s stories in a way that honor performance traditions of the African Diaspora while catalyzing a dialogue about the social, cultural, and political realities of Black women globally. Our current production Vivisection is an often comedic, thought-provoking multidisciplinary exploration of how the visceral experience of regularly being othered impacts the hearts, minds, bodies, souls and basic humanity of Black women. Without having our pain and suffering taken seriously the end result is torture. Vivisection, the production is an original work written and devised by the members of Re-write(s) of Passage Ensemble Theatre Company.
