Visual Art – New Orleans
I grew up in the small town of Hornbeck and finally ventured out when I attended college at the Louisiana Scholars\' College at Northwestern State University in Natchitoches. I obtained my BFA in Fine and Graphic Arts with a concentration in studio art in 2015. As part of my requirements for graduation, I completed and presented a senior thesis and art show focusing on the steampunk genre and its different representations in literature versus fine arts.
My artistic style leans toward the elaborate and complicated, opposed to my simple and quiet life outside of the arts. I am a fan of details and patterns and I incorporate these elements into designs featuring original characters. I work mainly in black and white but recently I am adding washes of watercolor over my illustrations.
I choose to work more in the fantasy realm due to the freedom it allows me in the creation of shapes and layering of imagery and patterns.
Now my goal is to branch out and showcase my art more.
