Accessories – Raleigh
My name is Alysha Bushey and I am a jewelry designer working out of the Raleigh, North Carolina area. Jewelry and gemstones are my passion. For the most part I am self-taught, learning from books, magazines and my own mistakes. In 2010 I had the opportunity to take a few beginning metalsmith classes. I learned how to cut, form, solder metal and, most importantly, I learned how to set stones in my jewelry using these metal smith techniques. I then applied these skills into my wire work and continued to develop my designs. I am not afraid to try new things – I believe that being an artist is having the ability to overcome the creative obstacles in our work. I owe my creative growth to these experiences.
Today, I am a resident jeweler at Lede Studio and Gallery in Wake Forest, North Carolina. I have the privilege of working with 5 other jewelers in the studio; we inspire and mentor each other. I work in Sterling Silver, Palladium White Gold and 14-24k Yellow Gold. I also recycle metal by melting it down and forming it into sheet or wire to compose my designs. My current passion is creating custom jewelry and wedding bands for those who seek one of a kind, quality, hand crafted artwork. I strive to create pieces that are so eye-catching they will strike up conversation. My jewelry itself is a statement.
