Sarsparilly founder and designer, Maria Murphy, studied Fashion Manufacturing at TAFE in Sydney after completing high school and started various creative endeavours from there including her first label of Japanese street fashion inspired mini skirts under label Planetmilkshake and clothing and accessories label Murphy My Dear.
After completing the Government's NEIS program (New Enterprise Incentive Scheme to help kick start small business ideas) in 2009, Sarsparilly was born. Initially a label that consisted of true vintage, products by other Independant designers and clothing and accessories by Maria, all with a fun cute/kitsch vibe, it has now come full circle to what it is today.
