Shady at Best began in NYC in 2009, the brain child of singer - songwriter Richard Spierenburg. The band played out of venues such as Sullivan Hall, Kenny\'s Castaways and The Bitter End along with various smaller clubs in Manhattan and Brooklyn. The soulful, powerful melodies of the tunes as well as the lyrics speak to an audience looking for something inspired.
Now re-located to central Iowa, the band continues to play and share it\'s essential message of societal, political and spiritual consciousness. The drive of the piano lays the groundwork for strong vocal lines that build and pronounce each songs message.
Besides the importance of honesty, Shady at Best strives to bring music that invokes the listener to question love, money, society, politics; to not settle for one understanding or outlook upon the world.
