The Art of Erik Ybarra

Visual Art – San Antonio

I am primarily a self taught artist, drawing as long as I could remember, which really isn\'t saying much. For the most part the only formal or what I consider formal training I\'ve had was my last two of high school, and my years at school going to San Antonio College. Being part of the Graphic and Fine Arts program really just help me develop everything a little more. After school, I pretty much went back to basics and did everything in my sketch books. Eventually after my dad had bought me a $3 airbrush kit, I spent a month just teaching myself how to use it. I just somewhat immersed myself into learning as much as I could about it without any outside influence. After a while one of the artists at the tattoo shop I would go to started giving tips and tricks on how to do things. And he is an amazing artist when it came to that kid of stuff, and it really help me. As time is going by things are still developing and becoming more technical, and expressive. And as I\'m adding different elements like watercolor in my work, its becoming more and more of my own style. And I only hope it can get better.
