The POET

Memphis based writer, actor, designer, motivational speaker and spoken word artist; The POET is a soulful voice in performance poetry. His story is of the poetic rhetoric — values from the heart, a middle-class upbringing in a strong family; passion, pain, and poetry as the means of getting ahead, and the absolute conviction that a life so blessed should be lived to praise his art throughout the world. Entering the spoken word arena in early 2011, he has become an award winning spoken word artist. Growing up under the artistry and guidance of Tupac Shakur, August Wilson, and Lorraine Hansberry, The POET knew he wanted to ease the world pain with his words. The POET has made numerous appearances at the National Civil Rights Museum where he used spoken word to fuse poetry, music, and photography. Also, The POET has recently completed his own series of inspirational films entitled: Po•et•ic Films. While these films contains explicit material, it is the positive, deep, and penetrating thought that formulates and start to develop a strong conviction of a higher perception and clearer realization of truth.
