vanessa fae is a performing hoop dancer and fire hooper. She has been hoop dancing since 2010, dancing to electronic dance music since 1998 and is a lifelong stage performer in various forms of theatre and music. But, since first picking up a hoop, this medium has become her dominant form of artistic expression and home is now inside of a hoop. vanessa brings to her dance the musicality of a trained classical musician, the artistry of an innovative creator, the polished skill of a meticulous kinesthetic performer/athlete and the joy of a curious childlike energy. The repertoire of tricks that she integrates into her hooping is deep and constantly expanding. Whether she is performing onstage in front of hundreds or street performing (she is licensed in Chicago) on a corner in front a handful, reactions are always the same - awestruck admiration for the beauty of her seamless, skilled, flowing hoop dance.
