Visual Art – Los Angeles

I began making art when I was nineteen. I was in a low, depressed state in my life. I looked to art to pick me up. I discovered more about myself, my craft and how I relate to the world. I made my first art piece using only black sharpies. In it and through it, I explored my faith in Jesus, reflected on my personal relationships, and dove into my imagination. Without art and a faith that found me, I would be lost. I sell custom shoes for work but it hardly seems like work. My job is to share my vision and stories told through art on my custom shoes to the world. It is the best job I could ask for. Stories are crucial to my shoes and art because art without a story or meaning is not art - it\'s just an image. So I am intentional about what I create, which affects the how - the process. That\'s also how I live my life. With a clear purpose, a vision, a meaning. And it affects the way I live. I like this quote by Cervantes who says, \"The journey is better than the inn.\" I am definitely on this crazy journey called life and enjoying every minute of it.
