Water & Chalk

I\'ve lived my whole life in the greater Seattle area, but part of my heart lives in Southern California with my grandmother and part of my heart lives in the Galapagos Islands with the sea turtles. I have a degree in Neurobiology from the University of Washington - but I love art. I have loved art since I was 5 and I drew horses with 15 legs, every single day. I primarily use watercolors layered with acrylics and colored pencils. I\'m all about unexpected color and contrast and things that are just nice to look at. I rebel vehemently against the idea that \'cute\' or \'pretty\' is not \'art\'. I got my start as a chalk artist three years ago on-campus at the University of Washington. I now own my own business (since the beginning of this year!) doing independent chalk art. I use liquid chalk, so it\'s a lot like painting.
