Matthew Marcum is an interdisciplinary artist whose body of work consists of a diversified practice with performance being the central focus. Marcum has appeared in many stage productions such as: Hair,Tommy, Godspell, Sexual Perversity in Chicago,West Side Story, and Crumble Justin Timberlake. Marcum was featured in Playbill Magazine for his work as Galileo in the Mid West premiere of the Queen musical We Will Rock You. Also a very accomplished musician, Marcum was a featured male vocalist for American Entertainment Productions performing in musical reviews in IL, NH, and PA. After fronting the Pittsburgh based jam band Jive Odyssey, Marcum went solo with the release of his debut album Spirit Chain. In 2006 Marcum was chosen as a Chicago Fox idol by Fox News and was featured on the WGN morning show for his work in We Will Rock You and Hair. He has appeared in the major motion picture Savannah, the independent film Gretchen and Faust and has created a wide range of solo performance pieces such as: Surreal Estate, The Sum of Some Parts, Fins and Acquaintances, and The Reinventionalist. Since moving to Nashville Marcum has written and recorded 2 more albums with Electra Head Media, is a member of the Side Show Ensemble at Actor\'s Bridge Theatre and a producing artist for the Side Show Fringe Festival.
